Religious Objects: Thai well-wishers donate to ancient monastery

Diamond bud and vane to be offered atop nine-tiered teak building donated by King Mindon in Dhami Karama Shwe Kyin monastery were conveyed from Thailand to Myanmar by MAI airways on the weekend.

These diamond bud and vane were donated by well-wishers from Thailand and expertise made intricately these religious objects for a year in Myanmar design and style.

Venerable Buddanta Htuti Wara, Presiding Sayadaw, Maha Dhammi Karama Shwekyin Monastery said "The expertise from Thailand took a year for making these diamond bud and vane. Several jewelries and relics were enshrined. They made the first time these religious objects by taking Myanmar traditional design and style. "

It has been 4 years now that well-wishers from Thailand have been renovating over 160-year old teak building contributed by King Mindon in Dhami Karama Shwe Kyin monastery not to lose the style of Myanmar artworks and handicrafts of Yadanabon Era. 

The Presiding Sayadaw said that this activity is good deeds and it will result on propagation of Buddha Sasana in Myanmar and Thailand and it will promote preserving tradition and customs and friendly relations between the two countries and the people.
