


The central administrative body of the State Pariyatti Sasana Universities of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee held its meeting (1/2032) at the convocation hall of the State Pariyatti Sasana University in Yangon on Friday.
Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Chairman of the central administrative body of the Sasana University Chairman Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Dr Bhaddanta Sanda Nasara gave opening address at the meeting.
Then, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko supplicated on religious matters and said that it has been 37 years of founding and opening of the two State Pariyatti Sasana Universities by the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee in order to ensure the long-term sustainability of Pariyatti education.
The State Sasana Universities produced 2,653 Sasana Thetka Sila Dhamma Sariya B.A degree holders, 484 Sasana Thetka Sila Maha Dhamma Sariya (M.A) degree holders, 14 Sasana Thetka Sila Dhamma (Ph.D) degree holders and 5 honorary doctorate (D. Litt) degree holders and they are performing missionary works in the border areas and hilly regions.
The Union Minister called for the interests of religion and the state while receiving guidance from Sayadaws. Later, the Secretary of the administrative body Director-General of the Department for the Promotion and Propagation of the Sasana presented the implementations of decisions of the previous meeting and reports of the meeting (1/2023).
Afterwards, the Sayadaw who chaired the meeting delivered a concluding remark. The Union Minister then donated offertories to the Sayadaws and the ceremony ended.
