Relief Supplies: Provisions for reconstruction efforts

The government is providing assistance for the communities affected by the severe earthquake.

On Thursday, a ceremony was held in Nay Pyi Taw Pobbathiri Township to provide cash assistance for the damaged houses. During the ceremony, 10 million kyat cash assistance was provided for 100 collapsed houses, along with the 16 items of relief supplies.

The earthquake has caused widespread damage in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, with damages at the government departments and staff housings. The reconstruction measures are being carried out with the support of international and local organizations.

The government provides 1 million kyat cash assistance for the deceased victims while 300,000 kyat by the Disaster Management Department. The clearing of debris have so far completed over 90%, and construction materials are being sold at reasonable prices. It is learnt that the buildings are being reconstructed to be resilient to earthquake.
