Relief Measures : Relief supplies provided to flood victims in Pakokku

The Magway Region Government provided relief supplies to flood-affected residents in Pakokku on August 13. Officials distributed relief supplies to 160 affected households, totaling 644 people, in Wards No. 1 and 10.

Each household received four pyi of rice, 25 ticals of cooking oil, 10 eggs and five packets of instant noodles. The Ayeyawady River in Pakokku Township remains above the danger level, causing flooding in residential areas of Ward Nos. 1, 9, 10, 13 and 14, as well as Kyawe Tae , Kokkohla  and Lae Yar လယ်ယာ village-tracts.

Several temporary evacuation and relief centers have been opened at pagoda compounds, schools, a cyclone shelter, a monastery and along the river embankment. Authorities are assisting 493 households, covering 2,049 people, with evacuation, healthcare, emergency supplies, rice support and basic food items.
