













President U Min Aung Hlaing inspected flood-affected areas in Ayeyawady Region on Sunday and observed ongoing measures to protect the Ngawun River embankment in Laymyethna Township of Hinthada District, where subsidence had occurred at Mile Post 25/3.
The President also visited flood-affected residents in Laymyethna Township and met with them at Laharpa Village Monastery. He spoke with the residents, offered encouragement and presented relief supplies to those affected by the flooding.
Flooding has affected five wards and 138 villages in Laymyethna Township, with more than 39,000 people reportedly affected. A total of 17 temporary flood relief camps have been established to provide shelter and assistance to affected residents.
The government and relevant authorities are continuing relief, rehabilitation and flood-protection measures in the affected areas, while efforts are also being undertaken to prevent further damage to the Ngawun River embankment.
