Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win together with departmental officials inspected agricultural tasks and regional development in Thayawady district on 2nd March.

First, the Chief Minister and party looked into Hsin Shwe Kyar sunflower plantation of farmer U Myint Soe in Sit Kone (2) village in Thayawady township and called for stockpiling of sunflower strains for distribution and cultivation of sunflowers in all areas where it can be grown.

They then made inspection to sunflower plantation in Thaya Kone village. Under the program of the Bago Region Chief Minister for more production of edible oil in the region, 2,225 baskets of sunflower seeds have been distributed free of charge to bean growers in the region since October 2020.

At present, 5,830 acres of oil-bearing sunflower have been cultivated. At the Gyo Bin Gauk Township General Administration Department Office, the Chief Minister and party met departmental officials and town elders and fulfilled the needs on distribution of water, agriculture, livestock, rural electrification, health, education and regional development affairs.

The Chief Minister then inspected laying road in Gyobin Wine village with 124 million kyats of the Union budget for 2021-2022 fiscal year of the Rural Development Department and gave instructions on meeting set standard. The Chief minister and party then looked into tomato plantation in Nyaung Ni kone village of Min Hla Township and coordinated essentials. They then inspected Thayawady railway station and stressed on beautifying of the station environ.
