Regional Meeting: ASEAN Science and Technology Ministers’ Meeting in Jakarta

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw led the Myanmar delegation to the 21st ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology, and Innovation (AMMSTI-21), held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

On June 19, the Union Minister attended a welcome dinner hosted for ASEAN science and technology ministers. The official opening of AMMSTI-21 took place on June 20, followed by discussions on regional cooperation in science, research, and innovation.

The Union Minister delivered remarks under the theme “Empowering ASEAN’s Science, Technology and Innovation Ecosystem: National Commitments for Regional Impact through APASTI 2026–2035.”

Meanwhile, Myanmar delegation members Dr. Sai Kyaw Naing Oo and Dr. Phyu Phyu Win participated in the 87th ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (COSTI) and related meetings, engaging in sector-wise discussions.
