





Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe together with officials made field trip to the summer paddy cultivation and regional development tasks by cooperative syndicate system with the State Economic Promotion Fund in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on Tuesday.
On arrival at Shar Chaung village in Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, the Union Minsiter met summer paddy growers, local people, paddy grinding syndicates, rice millers and Kaung Thit San cultivation Syndicate societies from Shar Chaung, Pattar and Si Toe Aung villages.
At the meeting, the Union Minister said that it is arranged to cultivate summer paddy cultivation with cooperative syndicate system from 25 cooperative teams on over 3,767 acres in 3 townships of Nay Pyi Taw council area and cooperative sector will cooperate in summer paddy cultivation.
Arragnements will be made for getting the strain, inputs and fertilizers that are necessary for farmers with reasonable price and also arranged for availability of irrigated water and selling paddy with current price. Among the benefits obtained from the sale, the Union Minister called for the farmers to pay attention to repayment of the price of inputs disbursed by the state, the China EXIM Bank loans and Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank loans of the People's Republic of China.
The inputs equivalent to 200,000 kyats per acre of summer paddy for farmers will be provided and among the produced rice, the summer paddy equal to the price of the inputs was collected by the association's executives and the executive members and buyers, through collective sale programs to the group of buyers, millers and exporters.
The Union Minister then fulfilled the reports of farmers, locals, and cooperative syndicate members, the rice buying and milling groups and rice millers. Later, the Directors-General discussed the programs on summer paddy cultivation with the state economic fund, getting strains, fertilizers and irrigated water and assistance for regional development.
From there, the Union Minister and party arrived in Taung Tha village of Lewe Township. In respone to the reports of officials, the Union Minister stressed on measures for increasing incomes of locals through agriculture and livestock breeding, summer paddy cultivation, long-term sustainability of the project plans and achieving the tasks and looked into the tasks and fulfilled the requirements.
