Regional Cooperation: 12th ASEAN Navy Young Officers Interaction in Yangon

12th ASEAN Navy Young Officers Interaction was hosted by Myanmar from 28th April to 1st May. Junior Navy Officers from ASEAN member states arrived in Yangon on 28 April.

On the 29th,  the delegations attended the opening ceremony and took part in the clarification of naval history and discussion session under the theme “Cooperation for regional stability and maritime security in a balanced and unified manner”.

Earlier in the day, Chief of Staff (Navy), Vice Admiral Aye Min Htwe cordially received and welcomed the delegation, attending the event. After a welcome speech, the delegations made introduction. At night, the Chief of Staff Navy hosted the dinner reception in honour of the delegations.

During their stay in Yangon, the delegations participated in rowing and yachting competitions held at the Tatmadaw (Navy) Rowing and Sailing Club (Inya Lake). They also visited the Shwedagon Pagoda and Bogoke Aung San Market. On 1st May, the delegation departed for their respective countries.
