Recovery efforts are being carried out in the areas affected by the powerful Mandalay earthquake. On Sunday, over 2,900 tons of Octane and over 11,900 tons of diesel, donated by China, were handed over to Yangon Region Government.

This was the 15th time of donating fuel from China, and the vessel docked at Brighter Energy Terminal on May 23rd. The Ministry of Energy will continue to distribute these fuel to the quake-hit areas. Likewise, a vessel, loaded with over 1,100 Modular (Prefabricated) Houses and 160 Offices, was docked at Thilawa (MTT) Jetty on May 24th, as the 16th time of provisions for quake-hit areas.

Chief Minister U Soe Thein accepted the handover of these donated items, which will then transported to the quake-hit areas by train.
