Receiving UNESCO Rep.: MoE UM received UNESCO Representative to Myanmar

Union Minister for Education, Dr. Nyunt Pe, warmly met with Mr. Ichiro Miyazawa, UNESCO Representative to Myanmar, at the meeting room of Office No. (13), Ministry of Education, Nay Pyi Taw on May 13.

During the meeting, they discussed the damages sustained by basic education schools, education degree colleges, and universities due to the Mandalay Earthquake on March 28, and the ongoing efforts to repair these facilities in time for the school reopening in June.

They also had an open and cordial discussion regarding possible areas in which UNESCO could provide assistance, particularly in the maintenance, renovation, and construction of schools to support the development of the education sector.
