Raising Awareness: Training on Human Rights Conventions conducted

Awareness training on Human Rights Conventions was opened at the Ministry of Social Welfare, relief and Resettlement on Monday with an address by Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khine. In her address, the Union Minister said that the aim of the course is to take care of more people by understanding the basic principle of human rights, to know the work processes of respective ministries regarding the human rights conventions, to improve the implementation of human rights in the family and communities.

Being a member of the United Nations, Myanmar is paying attention to the human rights of its people. Through the effective implementation of human rights conventions, it helps to meet the ministry's policy as well as the United Nations' 2030 agenda for sustainable development.

The staffs attending the training will understand the basic concept of human rights, history, human rights conventions and human rights activities implemented by the Ministry and it will support more services to people. She expressed her belief that the trainees will apply the lessons conducted by the course and by taking part in the discussions. The 2-day course will conduct the basic principles of human rights and the lessons related with human rights conventions.
