Rail Transportation : Upgrades of Nay Pyi Taw-Taungoo railway section

Union Minister for Transport U Mya Tun Oo, along with the deputy minister and officials, inspected efforts to improve train speed on the Nay Pyi Taw–Taungoo railway line and the construction of the Taungoo bypass railway.

They traveled by RBE train to inspect ongoing upgrades, including station rebuilding, bridge conditions, drainage systems, and track improvements. The Union Minister instructed officials to complete works on time, follow design and quality standards, and ensure the line can safely support speeds of up to 75 km/h.

At Taungoo station, the Union Minister reviewed plans for the bypass railway and emphasized completing construction according to approved designs and schedules. He also inspected earthwork and bridge construction, instructing proper soil compaction, drainage installation, and timely completion of all railway and station works.
