Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and departmental officials attended a ceremony to provide cash assistance to fire victims and displaced people in Puta-O District on Thursday.
At the event, the Chief Minister gave a speech and presented 4 million kyats cash assistance for 85 people of 10 affected households and 21 million kyats for 4,105 displaced people to the Deputy District Administrator.
The Chief Minister and party then inspected construction of 2-storey RC building and the extended patient wards with the Union Budget in the Puta-O district People’s hospital and viewed around the formation of new building. The Chief Minister also provided 1 million kyats for the staffs of the District People’s Hospital and 5 million kyats for 25-bed military hospital.
From there, the Chief Minister went to Zee Htan village where the displaced people are accommodated at the temporary relief camp and comforted them. He also fulfilled the needs on water, electricity and education sectors of the displaced families and provided 1 million kyats for the households and cash assistance for elders and children.
After that, the Chief Minister attended a ceremony to offer marble statues contributed by well-wishers at the Kaung Mulon Pagoda in Machanbaw township.
The Chief Minister and the State Ministers presented cash assistance for members of Khamti Literature and Cultural Association who participated in the ceremony and donated cash for all around renovation of the pagoda.
