Providing Assistance : Food aid for displaced persons in Kachin State

In Kachin State, more than 450 displaced families living in temporary camps in Myitkyina have received food aid. On Saturday, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, together with state ministers and officials, visited 13 camps across Myitkyina.

The families, displaced by conflict from Waimaw, Sadung , Panwa , Bhamo, Mansi, and Katha townships, are currently sheltering in makeshift sites. At Shamarri (1)  camp in Rampu ward, the Chief Minister distributed 367 bags of rice with one for each household. Community representatives expressed their needs, and officials pledged to coordinate with government departments to provide further assistance.

The delegation later visited PawU Monastery in Lekone ward, where 84 families received rice supplies. The government is working to ensure food and shelter during the rainy season. The Chief Minister urged families to remain resilient and emphasized collective efforts toward peace and eventual resettlement.
