Propagation of Sasana: Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida selection exam certificates

A ceremony to confer titles and certificates to the recipient monks who passed the written test of 77th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida selection examination, organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture took place at Maha Pasana Cave at Kaba Aye hillock in Yangon Region on Thursday.

The congregation led by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win received the Five Precepts from the Vice-Chair of Ovadacariya of examination board Patron Sayadaw of Moegaung Monastery in Hinthada.

Then, the Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Patron Sayadaw of Thanlyan Min Kyaung Pahtamapyan Sarthintaik read out the Saraniya Ovada.

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin later supplicated on religious matters. This was followed by conferring of religious titles and certificates to the recipient monks.

During the 77th examination, 97 Sayadaws including one recipient for Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida title, two for Dighanikayakovida title, 11 for Dighabharnaka title, one for Vinayakovida title, 29 for Vinayadhara title, 7 for Ubhatovibhingakovida title, and 46 for Ubhatovibhingadhara title were conferred the religious titles and certificates. Throughout the 77 years of organizing the exam, 17  Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida title recipient monks have turned out, and 15 of them have been conferred the Tipitakadhara Dhammabhaṇḍāgārika title by the state. After the ceremony, the Vice Senior General and party inspected the renovation works at the Maha Pasana Cave.
