Promoting Socio-Economic Life: Ministry of Cooperatives & Rural Dev’t holds meeting

Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development held its coordination meeting at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday with an address by Union Minister U Hla Moe.
At the meeting, the Union Minister said that the Ministry has formed with three departments that can perform the development of urban and rural areas.39,399 cooperative societies on production, services and trading have been formed to support the socio-economic development of the people and to benefit the members.
The Ministry is implementing smart village projects in various regions and states.To carry out effectively the agriculture, livestock and vocational tasks with cooperative system as well as to have collective team works, it needs to form cooperative societies by organizing the villagers. The Union Minister stressed on arrangements for learning vocational trainings while upgrading cooperative training schools for promoting socio-economic life of rural people and to create opportunities.
He called on making coordination with related departments for the tasks that can benefit for the people and to adopt integration mechanism in carrying out the tasks.
Then, the deputy minister discussed matters on the achievement of the tasks that is being undertaken by the Ministry.
Officials reported on measures for development of cooperative tasks, disbursing loans, progress of works and sector-wise implementations. In response to the reports, the Union Minister called on making collective efforts for the success of the Ministry’s policy, aim amd objectives and fulfilled the needs.
