Promoting bilateral trade: Myanmar (NPT)-China (Lincang) Trade Fair launched

Myanmar (Nay Pyi Taw)-China (Lincang) Trade Fair (4th Myanmar (Lashio)-China (Lincang) border trade fair) was opened at the MICC-2 in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday with an attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein.

At the event, staffs from the Fine Arts department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and the Chinese cultural dance troupe entertained the songs.

Later, the Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister U Win Shein said that the Myanmar (Nay Pyi Taw)-China (Lincang) Trade Fair reflects strengthening PaukPhaw Friendship between Myanmar and China which share borders, bilateral trade and economic cooperation and multi-sectoral cooperation of the people in the region.

For ensuring bilateral trade, it needs to promote cooperation among the two governments but also in private entrepreneurs. He urged to cooperate in development of banking systems in border areas, further development of logistics activities and facilitating trade procedures for border trade development of the two countries.

After that, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Chen Hai said that Myanmar is Yunnan's largest trading partner and the largest import source and export market.

The economic cooperation between Yunnan Province and Myanmar is a significant point in geographically and strong foundation. He expressed China’s willingness to strengthen mutual learning with Myanmar, to deepen the friendly cooperation, to support Myanmar as well as to assist for peace, stability and development of Myanmar.

Later, Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo said that it is an important trade fair for economic cooperation and development and he called on Myanmar and Chinese traders to strive for regional economic development by applying effectively the trade fair as a platform.

The Lincang Mayor then expressed thanks to the friends from Myanmar and China who are supporting the development of Lincang City. Afterwards, the Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister U Win Shein, Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo, Shan State Economic Affairs Ministers, the Vice President of UMFCCI, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, the Lincang Mayor and officials opened the trade fair.

After the photo session, the Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister and officials observed the booths displayed at the fair.

The Trade Associations and 65 companies in Myanmar display 79 booths and 70 Chinese entrepreneurs exhibit about 40 booths and the regional food, souvenirs, gems, tea and coffee, agricultural produces, rattan and bamboo products, wood carvings, furniture, banking service and tourism industry are put on display at the trade fair that will be held till 28th May.
