





The coordination meeting between members of the panel of patrons and those from the Leading Committee on Organizing the 2022 religious title offering and rice offering ceremony of the State Administration Council was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in Nay Pyi Taw, Monday with an address by Chairman of the Panel of Patrons Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win.
Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Senior General said that the religious title offering and rice offering ceremonies will be held in Nay Pyi Taw in March2022. It is learnt that the religious titles will be conferred to 272 Sayadaws and monks from local and 12 Sayadaws from abroad, altogether 284 as well as 41 nuns.
There will be 27 local laypersons and 1 laity from abroad, altogether 28 and out of them, 9 will be Sasana title recipients and 19 will be Sasana Nuggaha title recipients.
A foreign title recipient woman will receive Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja title. The Vice Senior stressed on holding the event in line with COVID-19 rules and regulations, preparations for the convenience in accommodation of Sayadaws, nuns, laypersons and supporting groups, transportation, offering alms food and catering programs.
Later, Chairman of the Steering Committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U KoKo reported on plans to confer religious titles for 2022 and Chairman of the Work Committee Deputy Minister U Aye Tun discussed plans on holding the ceremony. Officials from relevant sub-committees reported arrangements for the ceremony and ongoing processes on which the Vice Senior General fulfilled the needs.
