

Plans are underway to re-open the basic education schools in coming July.
For the safety measures and prevention against the COVID-19 disease among the students, teachers and educational staff, the Basic Education Department invite tender for distribution of masks, face shields and infrared thermometers.
Deputy Director General, Basic Education Department, Dr. Tin Maung Win said “We will accept the sample materials and application in next week. Once the quality control team checked the sample materials, we will proceed to the price comparison process. We will then submitted the tentative selected one to the executive committee meeting for approval.”
Starting July 21st, the schools will be re-opened starting from high school level with four possible schedules.
Some students have to attend as usual while have to take alternate week depending on the number of students, teachers and facilities.
Deputy Director General, Basic Education Department, Dr. Tin Maung Win said “Since the school enrollment week for the high school students was set from 13th to 17th July, all the supplies have to be ready before that period.”
We plan to provide two cloth masks and a face shield to each person. And we plan to provide over 75000 infrared thermometers to all the schools.
It is learnt that there are a total of 9.7 million students and more than 500,000 teachers and staff in over 47,000 schools across the country.
