





To commemorate the Children’s Day in Myanmar which will fall on 13th February, a PowerPoint Presentation Competition was held on 3rd February at Mary Chapman School for the Deaf on Thantaman Street in Dagon Township.
The PowerPoint presentation competition was arranged by the computer department of Mary Chapman School for the Deaf. At the competition, 7 teams comprised of over 40 students competed under 7 categories.
Khin Thida Nyunt, Principal, Mary Chapman School for the Deaf said "We celebrate the World Children’s Day and Children’s Day in Myanmar annually. Children’s Day in Myanmar falls on 13th February. As we are going to conduct an examination on 13th February, we held the competition on 3rd February. As our students are visual learners, they are interested in everything they learn visually. They are also very competitive and interested in the competition. By participating in this kind of competitions, they can gain experiences and improve their teamwork spirit."
Hnin Wai Thi Aung, Teacher, Mary Chapman School for the Deaf said "I teach basic PowerPoint lessons to students. They have to participate in the competition by using the knowledge they have learnt in the class. There are a total of 7 teams and every team has its own supervisor. Each team includes Grade 4 and Grade 5 vocational students. We choose the presentation titles systematically by doing meetings for several times and all of the presentation titles we give the students are not very hard for them. Although the titles called “The importance of family in life” and “How to promote deaf awareness” are a bit difficult for them, we can know their interest, ability, point of views and thinking skill by listening to their presentations."
The winners for 1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize, Best effort award and People choice award will be chosen systematically and the awarding ceremony will be held on 17th February.
