Power generation and Energy: Union Minister inspects oil fields in Magway Region

Union Minister of the Ministry of Electric Power and the Ministry of Energy U Thaung Han together with Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin inspected the Petrochemical Plant Group (Thanpayakan), Htauk Shapin/Kanni and Mann oil fields on 21st May.

On arrival at the Petrochemical Plant Group (Thanpayakan) in Min Hla Township of Magway region, the Union Minister and party looked into storage of crude oil produced from Htauk Shapin and Kanni oil fields and repairing process of oil wells.

At the meeting hall of Mann Oil Field, the Union Minister and party met with the staffs from Htauk Shapin, Kanni and Mann oil fields and Magway Region Electrical Engineering Office.

On the occasion, officials reported on the current work implementations in the oil fields and the projects on which the Union Minister coordinated essentials.

At the meeting, the Union Minister said that the Petrochemical Plant Group (Thanpayakan) is producing jet fuel, Gasoline, fuel, petroleum coal and liquefied petroleum gas.

It is necessary to make constant efforts to operate the factory regularly and improve productivity.

The Union Minister called for exploration and exploitation to be carried out in various ways to meet the oil and natural gas demands of the country for power generation and industrial development.

The Union Minister and the Region Chief Minister then presented fruit baskets to the staffs of the Petrochemical Plant Group (Thanpayakan) and oil fields.
