Police search for evidence in Tiergartenpark after deadly attack

German police are investigating a car-ramming attack near Berlin's Pride celebrations that killed one woman and injured 16 others on Saturday night.

Officers searched Tiergartenpark for evidence as the suspect remained at large. Authorities said the suspect was known to police and had alleged links to the Islamist scene. German media reported that he had previously been convicted of offences connected to the so-called Islamic State group.

Witnesses said a white van drove at high speed into a crowd in Tiergarten shortly after 22:00 local time, causing panic. The vehicle later stopped after crashing into a tree. Investigations are ongoing as authorities continue searching for the suspect.
