Plans to Resume Artistic Works: Meeting on literature, music and film arenas

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn held separate meetings with officials from the Myanmar Encyclopedia Revision Team, Interim Exec­utive Committee of Myanmar Music Association, and the In­terim Executive Committee of the Myanmar Motion Picture Or­ganization at MRTV in Yangon Sunday.

At the meeting with the My­anmar Encyclopedia Revision Team, the Union Minister discussed the update of the volume (I) of the Myanmar Encyclopedia according to the latest situations, and coordinat­ed business arrangements for initial publication and distribu­tion plans.

At the meeting with Interim Exec­utive Committee of Myanmar Music Association, the Union Minister said that the meeting is to discuss the necessary things to operate music industries by bringing together musicians under the leadership of the Association and called on to discuss practical issues.

Chairman of the Association and officials reported on formation of the association at the township level, welfare for the people in the music field, plan for holding concerts, arrangement for to participating in the Myanmar’s Performing Arts Competitions with the panel of judges and the prescribed music issues on which the Union Minister fulfilled the needs.

In meeting with the In­terim Executive Committee of the Myanmar Motion Picture Or­ganization, the Union Minister said that art is the only thing that can bring happiness to the people.

Today, the government is planning to construct the art centers and plans are underway to establish a Saso Beikman in regard with literature. He stressed on making efforts for resuming of the suspended artistic works and reopening of cinemas and the Ministry will provide necessary assistance.
