Plan To Reduce Import: Union Minister Stresses Sunflower Plantation For Oil

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Development of Rural Areas U Hla Moe on Wednesday met with the District and Township Administration and relevant departmental personnel in Kyaukse Township.

The meeting focused on acceleration of sunflower plantation for oil to replace palm oil plantation. There, the Union Minister urged the attendees to accelerate the sunflower plantation to reduce the palm oil import.

He also explained the Ministry’s efforts for development of rural areas including loans and the plan to open a cooperative finance and accounting school in Mandalay. The meeting continued with discussions on the acceleration of sunflower plantation for oil, jobs creation, plans and cooperation.
