






Football for School Launching Ceremony took place at the No.6 Basic Education High School in Zebuthiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Union Ministers Dr.Chaw Chaw Sein, U Ye Myint Tun, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than, Deputy Ministers and officials form Myanmar Football Federation attended the ceremony.
In her speech, Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein said that the program launching ceremony is a milestone of nurturing physical and mental well being of youth athletes combining basic education and sports sectors in an effort for country’s sustainable development. She urged all to conduct football trainings systematically while nurturing the sportsmanship spirit.
The Vice Chairman of the Myanmar Football Federation handed over Adidas size 4 balls to Nay Pyi Taw Education Officer.
The government is promoting school sports activities in cooperation with the Ministries of Education, Sports and Myanmar Football Federation while FIFA is launcing Football for School Program aimed at empowering children by combining sports and education. Under the program, FIFA donated over 40,000 Adidas size 4 balls to Myanmar and these are distributed to the basic education schools nationwide.
