Peace Meeting: NSPNC and UWSP Conclude 2nd Day of Talks

The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the United Wa State Party (UWSP) concluded the second day of talks in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

The discussions covered the remaining issues and reviewed the outcomes of the two-day meeting, including matters related to non-disintegration and non-secession of the Union, regional stability and development, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, practical cooperation, and peace process implementation. UWSP Vice Chairman U Zhao Guoan said the discussions were held in a friendly and open manner, covering peacebuilding, regional stability, and development.

He expressed support for resolving differences through political dialogue and pledged continued cooperation with NSPNC to promote peace, stability and development. In his closing remarks, NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae highlighted the fruitful outcomes of the two-day discussions, along with special emphasis on maintaining continuous communication and cooperation between the NSPNC and UWSP to further advance the peace process. The meeting concluded with the exchange of souvenirs. The two sides then signed the record of discussion outcomes after the completion of the negotiations.
