Peace Implementation: State Peace Talks Team meets NMSP peace delegation

A meeting between the State Peace Talks Team and the peace delegation led by Vice Chairman of the New Mon State Party (NMSP) was held at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Center in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister at the Government Office Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) leader of the Peace Talks Team Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, SAC member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein, NSPNC members, Vice-Chairman of the New Mon State Party Nai Aung Min, Joint Secretary Nai Win Hla, Central Executive Committee members and peace representatives attended the meeting.

At the meeting, leader of the Peace Talks Team Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and the Vice Chairman of the NMSP extended greetings. They then discussed amending the fundamental articles from 2008 Constitution in building a Union based on democracy and federalism and proposals to be discussed by the two sides.

Attendees also coordinated their attitudes and desires and the first day session then adjourned. The 2nd day session will continue on 14th February. The New Mon State Party (NMSP) signed in the NCA on 13th February 2018 together with Lahu Democractic Union (LDU). According to the NSPNC, meeting of NMSP with the State Peace Talks Team to build a Union based on democracy and federalism is a  cordial and freidly meeting on the special day.
