Parliamentary Observation : Students observe Hluttaw procedures

On Friday, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi recieved the teachers and students from Soe San Private High School (Nay Pyi Taw) who visited Hluttaw Building to observe the 14th day meeting of Third regular session of Third Pyithu Hluttaw.

The Speaker provided a detailed explanation of the structure of the Hluttaw, procedures for electing representatives through voting, the qualifications required to become a Hluttaw representative and the duties and responsibilities, the main functions of the Hluttaw, including lawmaking, representing the people, and coordinating with the executive and judicial pillars, and the structure of the committees established within the Hluttaw and their roles in supporting the functions and responsibilities of the Hluttaw.

The teachers and students then raised questions about the ongoing activities of the Hluttaw and other matters of interest. The Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw and members of the Pyithu Hluttaw Information Team responded the questions. Subsequently, the students participated in a mock parliament practice session.
