Parliamentary Affairs: Meeting with Yangon Region Hluttaw officials

Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw, member of the Myanmar Parliamentary Union U Maung Maung Ohn met with the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and representatives of the Yangon Region Hluttaw at the Yangon Region Hluttaw office on Thursday.

The meeting began with a video presentation on the Union-level Hluttaws, Myanmar’s new political landscape and the country’s future development. U Maung Maung Ohn delivered opening remarks, while Yangon Region Hluttaw Speaker U Htay Aung discussed matters related to the regional hluttaw.

U Maung Maung Ohn called for cooperation among the three pillars of government, the executive, legislative and judiciary, to support national development. He also urged Hluttaw representatives to raise questions and proposals reflecting the needs of local people and to work on updating and enacting laws in line with current conditions. He highlighted the need for cooperation between hluttaws and capacity-building for Hluttaw representatives and office staff.
