Paris region prison set to open new wing for organised crime offenders

A third organized crime wing is set to open at Réau prison, south of Paris, in the coming weeks, one year after the first such unit opened in the Pas-de-Calais department (northern France).

Designed as a prison within the prison, the new 20-place wing is completely isolated from the rest of the prison, with a view to disrupt the continuation of criminal activities. Likewise, the staff consist of selected volunteers who have undergone specialized training to work with this population.
