





The paper reading session and prize awarding ceremony of 5th paper reading session organized by the Department of Agriculture under the topic of “From the Applied Research to the developed Agricultural Sector” was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on March 9 with the presence of Union Minister U Min Naung, Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Gyi, senior officials, paper writers from regions and states agriculture department, youth entrepreneurs and over 500 online observers.
First, the paper writers read the papers under the respective topic. Then, the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation said that the target output of 10 major crops has been set for the country's food and industrial raw materials to be fully self-sufficient. By utilizing the land resources and water resources of the country effectively and productively and by contributing possessed knowledge and skills for increasing per acre production, quality improvement and being cost-effective production, good historical milestone should be established in life.
The paper reading session that is being held now is not only about the high performance of young professionals in the department and the technological exchange, but also the results obtained from the paper reading session, recommendations and assessments are needed to keep record to be used as reference evidence for the activities to be carried out by the department and to be included in the technical disseminating activities that will benefit the farmers in the practical field.
Next, director general Dr. Ye Tint Tun clarified the objectives of 5th paper reading session organized by the Department of Agriculture, selecting prizes and marking schemes, publishing the prize awarded papers and arrangements to utilize them in practical field productively and effectively. Then, the Union Minister, Deputy Minister and Director General awarded prizes of honor to the prize winner paper writters in the 5th paper reading session organized by the Department of Agriculture.
