

The COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee held a coordination meeting on the prevention and control of the disease at the COVID-19 centers in Myanmar-China border towns, at the SAC Chairman office in Nay Pyi Taw, Monday with an address by Chairman of the Committee Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Senior General Soe Win. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Senior General said that COVID-19 prevention and control is affecting on Myanmar-China border trade.
The People’s Republic of China has provided assistance for the control of Covid-19 disease in Myanmar and continuous assistance will be made. The concerned ministries have been informed to make further cooperation in line with the disease control and emergency guidelines.
He also added that there are obstacles in trade between the two countries regarding the prevention and control of the disease and cooperation must be made in the disease control measures in line with COVID-19 rules. He also invited to make discussions on progress of COVID-19 prevention and control measures of the committees and relevant organizations, ongoing process and future plans.
The group leader of the Committee’s Secretariat office Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Soe Tint Naing, Union Ministers, the Kachin State Chief Minister and the deputy minister reported their sector-wise implementations. Then, the Vice Senior General supplemented on the reports and the meeting ended.
