Pa-O National Day: 74th anniversary celebration held in Thahton

A celebration for the 74th anniversary Pa-O National Day was held at NaungKalar Village in Thahton Township on Sunday.

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein attended the ceremony and made a speech. He said the state government is prioritizing for socio-economic development of ethnic people and promotion of their literature and culture.

He stressed the need to hand down the traditional customs to the new generations and strive for promotion of the ethnic language, literature and culture. He called for cooperation of all national brethren in implementing the interest of the state and nation.

The State Ethnic Affairs Minister later read out the message sent by the Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs on the 74th anniversary Pa-O National Day. The Chief Minister also presented cash assistance for organizing the ceremony and enjoyed the traditional performance by the Pa-O cultural troupes.
