Economic Development : Investment Committee meeting in Magway

On October 21, Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko attended the Magway Region Investment Committee’s meeting.

He said the government is encouraging investment in agriculture, livestock, agro-based industries and MSMEs. As of September in the 2026–2027 fiscal year, one foreign investment project worth 27.2 million US dollar and two Myanmar citizen investment projects worth 16.72 billion kyat had been approved in the region.

These projects are expected to create 179 local jobs and 14 jobs for foreign workers. He urged committee members to attract new investments, support existing businesses and promote job creation and regional economic development. The meeting also discussed a request to extend the construction and renovation period of a Myanmar citizen investment project.
