Opening of training school building: MoHT UM attended the opening ceremony

An opening ceremony for the Training School building of the Center for Tourism Development, established under the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (2023), and the Hotel Services Training Course was held in Kengtung Township, Shan State (East) on May 28. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was officiated by Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Kyaw Soe Win, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, Commander of Triangle Region Command Brigadier General Soe Hlaing, and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, Ms. Ma Jia.

Following the ribbon-cutting, the Union Minister, the Chief Minister, the Commander, and the Chinese Ambassador jointly pressed a button to unveil the nameboard of the Tourism Development Center and Training School. They also sprayed ceremonial perfume on the school’s commemorative plaque.

Next, the opening ceremony for the hotel services training course was held. Union Minister U Kyaw Soe Win and Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung delivered the speeches, followed by a congratulatory message from Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Ms. Ma Jia.

Subsequently, ethnic leader from the Akha community U Min Nyo, presented a traditional souvenir gift to Ms. Ma Jia as a token of appreciation.

The Union Minister, the Chief Minister, and other officials then met warmly with the trainees, offered words of encouragement, and toured the new training facility to inspect its condition.
