Opening Summer Sports Training : Sagaing Region CM delivered the opening address

The opening ceremony of the 2026 Summer Basic Sports Training Courses, organized by the Sagaing Region Sports and Physical Education Department under the guidance of the Sagaing Region Government, was held at the indoor stadium within the People's Sports Ground in Monywa on February 26th.

The ceremony was attended by Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, who delivered the opening address. Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw stated that the trainees need to diligently learn and practice the lessons taught by their coaches and strive to reach the level of national-level athletes who can bring honour to the country from their respective wards, villages, and townships.

Following address, the Region Chief Minister and attendees observed demonstration performances by the trainees including football, karate, and fitness dance. Region ministers and responsible officials presented cash of honor and sports equipment to the trainee demonstrators and their coaches.

Subsequently, the Region Chief Minister and responsible officials cordially greeted the trainees attending the 2026 Summer Sports Training Courses. The 2026 Summer Basic Sports Training Courses will conduct training in 13 sports disciplines from February 26th to March 31st, with 550 trainees participating.
