Opening of road section: MDY CM attended the ceremony

Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, accompanied by Region Government Ministers and officials, attended the opening ceremony of Yangon-Mandalay road section at the Meiktila South Lake embankment in Meiktila Township, on June 3rd.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister delivered an opening speech and, together with officials, formally opened the road section by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. He also presented honorary cash awards to a Pom Pom dance group, drum and bugle corps, and a Shan O-zi dance troupe. Following the ceremony, he inspected the road section and the areas along both sides of the lake embankment.

Next, the Chief Minister and officials visited the Thein Min Chili Powder production. Following a presentation by the business owner, the Chief Minister coordinated with officials to address necessary matters.

Subsequently, they proceeded to No. (5) Basic Education High School (Shan Te) in Meiktila. There, they observed teachers conducting lessons for students in their respective classrooms according to subject and grade, and students learning peacefully and happily. They also inspected the issuance of matriculation examination admission cards at relevant examination centers and observed students retaking the matriculation examination who are staying in camps and receiving close supervision and revision lessons from teachers. The Chief Minister and officials then addressed any identified needs.

Next, the Chief Minister visited the Garden Family Goat Meat Fattening Feed Mixing Plant in the Meiktila Industrial Zone. After a presentation by plant officials, the Chief Minister coordinated and facilitated necessary actions with responsible officials.

Continuing their tour, the Chief Minister and officials visited Shwethalyaung Hill in Kyaukse Township. They inspected the current condition of the Great Stone Casket, which was displaced from its original position by a Mandalay earthquake. They then addressed the needs of the site with relevant officials, it’s reported.
