Opening of New Hospital Building: MOH UM attended opening of new hospital building

Union Minister for Helth Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the opening ceremony of a 2-storey hospital building at Dagon Myo Thit (East) Hospital in Yangon on Tuesday. First, the Union Minister and officials opened the building cutting ceremonial ribbon and unviled the inscription sprinkling scented water.

The Union Minister and party toured around the new building to inspect patient rooms, operation theater, and dental and oral department. During the meeting with the patients, the Union Minister provided nutritious food and instructed for providing quality health care services. With the worth of over 1,789 million kyats from State Fund, 16,800 feet wide RC 2-storey building was constructed in 2024-2025 Fiscal Year to obtain better health coverage for over 40,000 people within the Township.

The Union Minister and party later proceeded to the Yangon Children’s Hospital and presented gifts to the two conjoined twins who underwent surgery on June 11th. They then met with the hospital superintendent and the professors/specialists who performed the surgery in the conference hall.

The Professor/Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery, the hospital superintendent and the professors explained the conditions of the surgery on the conjoined twins. On the reports, the Union Minister and the Yangon Region Chief Minister gave necessary instructions and presented cash of honour to the medical teams. It’s reported that the health condition of the two conjoined twins is improving after the surgery.
