Opening of language training :Taninthayi Region CM gave opening remarks

The opening ceremony of the Russian language basic course, launched under the directive of the Taninthayi Region Chief Minister, was held at the Department of Ethnic Affairs, Tanintharyi Region Directorate Office in Dawei on May 14.

At the ceremony, Chief Minister U Myat Ko stated that the course was introduced to help ethnic residents in the region develop their socio-economic livelihoods by learning the Russian language, particularly in relation to the Dawei Deep-Sea Port Special Economic Zone. He emphasized the importance of preserving and valuing their native language, literature, and cultural heritage while also acquiring new skills for economic growth. He encouraged the trainees to study diligently and continue their learning beyond the basic course.

Following this, the Chief Minister distributed learning materials to the trainees, and a group photo was taken.

The Russian language basic course will run from May 14 to June 5. A total of 150 trainees, including government officials, students, young people, and interested individuals, will participate in the course, which will be divided into two groups. Lessons will be delivered by designated instructors according to a scheduled timetable.
