




In honoring and hailing the 76th Shan State Day, the opening ceremony of speaking training courses of English, Japan, Korea and Chinese languages was held at the office of Shan State director under the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs in the afternoon on February 6 with the attendance of Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye, Shan State Government Minister for Ethnic Affairs, senior officials, training instructors and trainees.
First, the Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung gave an opening remark that the State Administration Council is addressing the development of the country in the political, economic, social affairs as well as promoting the education sector to turn out the competent human resources.
So, the ministry is conducting the training courses at the regions and states with the cash assistances provided by the relevant regions and states for the human resource development and socio-economic improvement of the national races. As the official language of the country is Myanmar, it’s needed to be fluent in usage and grammar. Likewise, if the international languages such as English, Japan, Korea and Chinese are learned fluently, it will facilitate to create job opportunities and the international relations etc.
Next, the Shan State Chief Minister gave a remark on the efforts of the state government for the comprehensive development of the national races and the infrastructure development such as improvement of road transportation and accessibility of water and electricity.
Then, the Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung and Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye provided text books, teaching aid materials, foodstuff and cash assistance for the trainees. Afterward, the union minister and chief minister posed for documentary photo with the training instructors and trainees and cordially greeted them. Next, the union minister met with the department personnel of the Ministry who are serving in Shan State, gave necessary instructions, coordinated requirements upon the reports of the personnel and provided cash assistance. Then, the union minister and officials inspected the office works of the staff and gave necessary instructions, it’s learnt.
