Omicron variant dominant in SKorea

Currently, Omicron is the dominant variant of the coronavirus in South Korea and officials said it is spreading quickly.

Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency Commissioner said the government would respond by shifting the country's quarantine system to focus on testing and treating high-risk groups, rather than trying to reduce the number of cases.

Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum urged people to refrain from travelling to their hometown during the Lunar New Year holiday, which runs from January 31 to February 2.
