Offering Religious Titles: Coordination meeting held for preparation measures

A work coordination meeting of the Patron Group and the Steering Committee for Offering the Religious Titles 2023 was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Chairman of the Patron Group Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win attended the meeting and made a speech.

He said a work committee and 12 sub-committees have been formed for convenient process of the works, and all are needed to carry out the tasks in a timely manner. A total of 403 Sayadaws, 382 from local and 21 from abroad, 38 nuns and 42 lay persons, 41 from local and 1 from abroad will be presented the religious titles this year.

The Vice Senior General instructed for convenient arrangements of accommodation, healthy and hygiene foods and health care services for the title recipient Sayadaws in coordination with the respective sub-committees.

Chairman of the Steering Committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko reported on the scrutinizing and offering of the religious titles, followed by the reports on the plans for offering of religious titles and Soon Offering Ceremony by the Work Committee Chairman.

Officials from the respective sub-committees also made sector wise reports. The meeting ended with a closing remark by the Vice Senior General.
