
More than 72,700 people had died of COVID-19 globally as the number of infections surged to 1.28 million on Tuesday, according to the latest figures showed by the situation dashboard of the World Health Organization (WHO).
According to the WHO dashboard, Europe has a total of 686,338 COVID-19 cases, and there are 384,242 reported confirmed cases in Americas. The United States continues to be the country most affected by the virus with the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases having reached 333,811 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus infections in Spain had hit 135,000, second to the U.S. in the world. In Italy, the number of confirmed cases had climbed to 132,547, according to the dashboard. German had reported 99,225 confirmed cases, followed by France with 73,488 confirmed cases.
