Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere said that it was "a very dark day in sunny Oslo" following the deadly shooting in the capital that left two people dead and many injured.

Organizers cancelled Saturday's Pride march in the wake of the shooting and advised revellers to stay away. He also said to understand their "responsible" decision, taken on the basis of advice from the police.

Investigators said a suspect, identified as a 42-year-old Norwegian citizen originally from Iran, was arrested. The PST security service raised its terror alert level from "moderate" to “extraordinary” - the highest level - after the attack.
