





North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un opened a new showpiece farm Monday, cutting a ribbon, and swapping hats with a military officer while posing for photos. The socialist state has a tradition of making a show of big projects, often built by the military.
The Korean Central News Agency reported the farm in North Korea's east has been built on a former air force base. Monday was the 77th anniversary of the official founding date of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party. Kim was shown in state media for the first time in a month, watching missile tests and military drills.
