North Korean state media released images on Wednesday of the country's latest missile test. Calling it a "hypersonic missile" again, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) website published still photos of the missile blasting off from a mobile launcher and separately, the country's leader Kim Jong Un, including his sister Kim Yo Jong.

The location of launch was not mentioned in the official report.  The launch - the second in a week by North Korea - follows a series of weapons tests in 2021 that underscored how North Korea is continuing to expand its military capabilities in defiance of international opposition.  South Korea said the weapon flew 700 kilometers at a maximum speed of around Mach 10 before landing in waters off its eastern coast, demonstrating a more advanced capability than the North's launch last week.
