The National Export Strategy Government-Private Export Promotion Committee held its meeting (1/2025) at the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw on March 18.

The meeting was attended by the Committee Chairman Union Minister at the Ministry (3) of the State Administration Council Office, the Committee Vice Chairman Union Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, along with committee members, Chairmen of National Export Strategy Sectoral Export Development Committees, and 65 representatives from the relevant departments and private sector organizations.

During the meeting, the Committee Chairman delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the importance of implementing sector-specific action plans by prioritizing quick-win initiatives that yield immediate results. He also stressed the need for strict financial oversight of allocated budgets and urged enhanced collaboration between stakeholders.

Furthermore, he noted that as the 2020-2025 National Export Strategy approaches completion, relevant agencies must identify outstanding projects and align them with future strategies.

Additionally, modifications and updates should be made to facilitate the drafting of the 2026-2030 National Export Strategy. Following this, the Committee Vice Chairman provided updates on the 2024-2025 fiscal year trade performance. He stated that while the targeted trade volume for the fiscal year was 33.00 billion USD, as of March 12, 2025, the actual trade volume had reached 25.793 billion USD, achieving 78% of the target.

As the fiscal year nears its end, he urged relevant government departments, private sector organizations, and exporters to collaborate closely to maximize exports and work towards doubling the export volume.

Subsequently, committee members, private sector representatives, and sectoral committee Chairs presented progress reports on their respective action plans, discussed upcoming initiatives, and explored potential areas for government-private sector collaboration to boost exports.

In conclusion, the Committee Chairman Union Minister provided additional insights on the discussions and delivered the closing remarks.
