NASA launched a rocket from the Arnhem Space Centre, on the Dhupuma Plateau, in Australia's Northern Territory on Sunday.

The rocket carries scientific equipment, including an X-ray Quantum Calorimeter which will allow the University of Michigan to gather new data on the structure of space.

This is NASA's first launch from a commercial spaceport outside the US and the first in Australia in 27 years.
