Myanmar Writers Association (3rd Conference): About 140 attendees attended the 3rd Conference

3rd Conference of the Myanmar Writer’s Association was held at the meeting hall of the Printing and Publishing Department in Botahtaung township of Yangon Region on 22nd May.

At the conference, the briefing report of the central executive committee and the articles amendment of association, the financial and summary of audit report are submitted by central executive committee members and made discussions on the reports.

The conference was scheduled to hold in 2020 and it has been delayed for two years due to the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Cho Cho Tin (Ma Sandar), President, Myanmar Writers Association said "There’re about 140 attendees participate in the 3rd conference and submit reports to fix corrections, depending on the writers’ performances and experienced difficulties. We reselect the new central executive committee members for 4-year period of the 3rd conference. "

Mg Nyein Thu (Gyobin kout), Secretary, Myanmar Writers Association said "We hold the conference once every 4 years in accordance with the rules and regulations. It was successful because of the help and support of the minister, officials and staffs of the Ministry of Information. So, thanks in honor to the other departmental organizations who help to be able to hold this conference."

The association is also providing welfare programs for the member writers, such as conducting training for writing, paper reading for knowledge sharing, as well as awarding scholarships for the outstanding family members. 

Myin Muu Mg Naing Moe, Vice President, Myanmar Writers Association said "I’m very proud to be able to hold such conference because of the whole association’s unity.  We, Myanmar Writers Association pay homage to senior literary experts every year, supports to unhealthy writers, award scholarship to excellent family members of writers. The new and old central executive committee members are going to participate in conference and so, we will be able to maintain the tradition of the writers’ association, which can be benefit for the entire literary world and supporting organization for the nation."

During the ceremony, the Township Performance award was presented to South Okkalapa Township Writers’ Association.

About 140 attendees joined the 3rd Conference of the Myanmar Writers Association which is 91.5% of the invitees.
